Wind Research & Development Park Overview
Welcome to WEICan’s state-of-the-art Wind Research & Development (R&D) Park, a pioneering facility leading the way in wind energy technology. Our park is home to five DeWind D9.2 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2 MW.
Advanced Turbine Technology
Our turbines are equipped with a synchronous generator coupled to a variable speed rotor through the hydraulic Voith WinDrive system. This configuration ensures efficient and dependable operation, even in the challenging conditions of a harsh coastal environment and cold weather.
The 93 m diameter of the turbines allows them to achieve their rated 2 MW capacity at a wind speed of approximately 10 m/s, with the ability to provide stable power output up to wind speeds of 25 m/s. This capability, combined with an annual capacity factor exceeding 45%, underscores the turbines’ exceptional performance and reliability.
Environmental and Economic Benefits
Our turbines are designed to start producing energy at a low cut-in wind speed of 4 m/s, and they operate effectively across a wide temperature range. This efficiency translates into more consistent power generation and contributes to the park’s ability to supply low-cost electricity to the local utility, fostering sustainable community development.
