Paul has over 25 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. His early work focused on project finance, design and execution, primarily outside North America. Paul was the CEO of Rayleigh Solar Tech, a Nova Scotia based solar energy technology company that was acquired in Dec. 2024 by a strategic US-based VC fund ($22M). Paul is the founder and was past president of One Wind Services which became Canada’s largest independent renewable energy service provider with over 240 staff and offices in both Canada and the US focused on wind, solar, storage and EV projects. One Wind was acquired in Dec. 2019 by Ontario based Spark Power Corp. Paul is co-founder at development companies Watts Wind and Stevens Wind which financed, constructed, and operates 6 small community-owned wind farms in Nova Scotia and is currently building two larger wind farms (total 184MW – $450M).
Paul holds an engineering degree from Memorial University and is completing a master’s degree in Global Development Studies from Saint Mary’s University focused on renewable energy in developing economies. Paul serves on several boards including the Wind Energy Institute of Canada, Salient Energy and is an independent member of HCI3 investment committee. Paul was a recipient of EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Atlantic Canada award in 2017.
