Director of Technology

Ken Montgomery joined the WEICan staff in October 2010. Previously, he worked as a Senior Advisor to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board in Halifax, working primarily on electric utility matters including wind farm and biomass projects. Mr. Montgomery also worked in the field of economic development for the Federal Government, in Cape Breton with Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation and in Halifax for ACOA. Prior to moving to Nova Scotia in 2000, Ken began his career as a utility engineer on Prince Edward Island where he was involved in utility operations and major construction projects for Maritime Electric. He led the utility’s involvement in the installation of the submarine cable link to New Brunswick and expansion of the 138 kV transmission system within PEI. Before leaving PEI in 2000, he was the Director of Technical Services for the City of Summerside.


Ken graduated from the Nova Scotia Technical College (now Dalhousie University) in 1972 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) Degree, and from the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
