This wind plant will be installed and operated with a utility sized energy storage system and related controls, designed and built to investigate the economic and technical viability of using energy storage technology with wind power plants in a Canadian application. The project's research base has a strong focus on information dissemination and will provide a sound base for further wind energy and energy storage research.

This project is made possible through the Clean Energy Fund, which is a part of the Government of Canada's Economic Action Plan. Details related to this project can be seen at http://www.nrcan.gc.ca/media/newcom/2010/201001a-eng.php.
