WEICan’s Visiting Professor Program a Success

11 September 2008

WEICan’s Visiting Professors and Academics Program (VPP) was initiated in order to enhance and recognize the contribution of scholars in the field of wind energy. Since its inception WEICan has had professors visit from California Polytechnic State University in the United States; Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ontario, Canada; Hefei University of Technology in China; and the University of Moncton in New Brunswick, Canada.

Professor Ahmed & WEICan Technician Carl Doucette

Firoz Uddin Ahmed, a professor in Lambton College’s Alternative Energy Engineering Technology Program, visited WEICan in August 2008 and had this to say, “I have learnt a lot from your facilities about a wide variety of wind energy systems operation and control. My experiences from this real life installation as well as your feedback about the labs will definitely reflect in my wind energy course curriculum in our alternative energy program at Lambton College. I strongly believe that WEICan research facilities are very important to support the growing wind energy industry in Canada.”
