Sean Whittaker is a professional engineer and Policy Director for the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA), an industry association that supports the appropriate development of wind energy in Canada. CanWEA's goal is to encourage investment in 10,000 MW of wind capacity by 2010, providing 5% of Canada's electricity.

In addition to being responsible for CanWEA's overall policy development, Sean coordinates CanWEA's Quebec Caucus, Atlantic Caucus and Small Wind Committee. Before joining CanWEA, Sean worked for six years with Marbek Resource Consultants, an Ottawa-based energy and environmental research firm. Prior to that Sean worked in Madagascar for five years designing, building and installing windmills for community irrigation projects.
