Claire LePage, Deputy Minister of the New Brunswick Department of Energy, brings considerable public service experience to her role. Her most recent responsibilities have been with Industry Canada where she was Regional Executive Director for the Atlantic Region, a position she has held from 2001 to 2006. LePage served as deputy minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture from 2000 to 2001. Her tenure in the New Brunswick agriculture portfolio began in 1996 when she served as assistant deputy minister responsible for marketing trade and rural development. In 1998, she was named deputy minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, a post she held until 2000. She sits on the board of directors of Genome Atlantic, is involved in the Conseil Économique du Nouveau-Brunswick and the Campagne de Financement of the Université de Moncton, and is a member of the NSERC Regional Advisory Committee.
